Founder background
Dr Kim Agnew BSc(Hons), BVSc, MACVCS
Sorensis founder and director, Dr Kim Agnew, has more than 40 years’ experience in extensive and intensive livestock production. Raised on a sheep and cattle farm in the Rangitikei, New Zealand, he graduated with BSc(Hons) and BVSc degrees from Massey University and worked as a veterinarian in a large animal practice for 10 years.
Since 1995, Kim has managed national, regional and global research and regulatory units with three leading animal health manufacturers. He has been involved in the development and commercialisation of 15 new products and numerous registration extensions and is named in six new product patents.
Kim has in-depth skills in clinical research, regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance and technical support, as well as the acumen required to bring new technologies to market. He has extensive expertise in building highly skilled and motivated teams and engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
Besides his role with Sorensis, Kim is a director of KAP Consulting Pty Ltd and a consultant to Paul Dick & Associates, a North American firm that provides services to the human and animal health industries. He is passionate about solving one of the greatest unmet therapeutic needs in the global beef industry – non-surgical sterilisation or long-term contraception of female beef cattle
